Fair play TPV: you can play in first or third person view. In order to mitigate advantage of the latter, every player has a minion with a camera that can uncover the position of a player who is peeking around a corner. So what makes the free edition super?[editedit source]

Well, aside from the fact that sticking the word 'Super' in front of everything makes it better, this isn't your typical demo/trial version. It allows you to play the game fully online, as much as you like! And you can even start progressing through the game, earning items and animal DNA. These cosmetic items you earn in the Super Free Edition are locked, so you won't be able to create new Super Animals or dress them up to make them your own, but if you like the game and choose to purchase it, all of your items and progress you've earned will transfer right into the full game! That's pretty Super, right? Hopefully not so super that you'll avoid supporting development of the game, but we're really proud of what we've built and the community that has grown around it, so we hope that giving you the chance to experience it for yourself will show you that it's an Early Access game worth supporting!

The top down view and streamlined mechanics make this the most accessible battle royale yet, while surprisingly deep strategy and a high skill cap rewards more advanced players. The game has also been optimized to run smoothly whether you play on a Macbook or a beastly gaming PC.

The island and roster of genetically engineered super animals are constantly (ahem) evolving with updates. Your super animal can be customized with new outfits, tombstones, death explosions, weapons, dance moves, and more, so you can look your best as you do your worst.

What's this game all about?[editedit source]

Super Animal Royale is a top-down multiplayer survival shooter for up to 64 adorably murderous Super Animals. Select your favorite from a menu of foxes, pandas, kitty cats, and other bloodthirsty beasts. Then, parachute into the ruins of an ill-fated safari park and fight off a lethal barrage of bullets, explosives, and silly dancing.

Cut tall grass and loot abandoned structures in search of the guns, explosives and health juice you’ll need to survive, and watch out for the poison gas, slowly seeping in from the edges of the map. Super Animal Royale features carefully balanced run and gun gameplay combined with an intuitive fog of war system that restricts a player’s view to line of sight, allowing for sneaky, strategic play. Whether predator or prey, only one animal can reach the top of the food chain, and with guns in their paws it's anyone's guess which one it'll be.

What is Steam Early Access?[editedit source]

Steam Early Access enables creators to provide games to gamers early to get valuable feedback during development, and empower gamers to influence the development of the games they love.

Battle Royale Gun Game

As of Early Access launch, all the core gameplay mechanics in Super Animal Royale are implemented and a lot of balancing work has been done, but we’ll continue to take more feedback and refine everything throughout Early Access. There are already more than 100 cosmetic items and 50 Super Animal breeds. Solos, Duos and Squads are implemented and support both team text chat and all text chat. The island has multiple biomes including evergreen forest, deciduous forest, swamp, desert, and a snowy north. It also has some of its first story-related points of interest including the S.A.W. Research Labs, with more coming soon. There are 12 weapons (including your starting melee weapon) in the game with 5 different levels of rarity, and more are coming soon.

How beefy does my computer need to be?[editedit source]

Minimum specs are still a moving target while the game is in active development pre-launch, but we're trying to optimize as much as we can to support older / lower end laptops and PCs. You can join a beta test if you'd like to see how the game performs on your computer before you pre-order!

Does Super Animal Royale have a Season's Pass?[editedit source]

The Early Access version of Super Animal Royale launches initially without additional in-app-purchases (IAP) or Season’s Passes, aside from the skins included in the Founder’s Edition. We’re focusing first on providing a ton of value in the base game, so we’re including more than 100 cosmetic items and 50 animal breeds that players can unlock without any additional purchase. Future added cosmetics and IAP will be optional additions to this content that help support the creation of further game development. Cosmetics will not provide players with any gameplay advantage, but will be a whole lot of fun in the animal customizer :).

In a previous version of the website, before Early Access launch, we listed “Super Animal Pass Season 0” as an item that would be included with the Early Access version of the game. All of the cosmetic items planned for Super Animal Pass Season 0 will still be included with the Early Access version of the game at launch on December 12th, but they will be unlocked by progressing through the game (dropping at the end of matches) rather than in a traditional season’s pass format. We’ll also be creating new free cosmetic content throughout Early Access beyond this initial free content pack. Future versions of Super Animal Royale might include a new season’s pass, but if we do add one we will create new cosmetic content for it at that time.
